Mineral spring in the village of Tokajík

The village of Tokajík is known primarily as the place where in 1944 the Tokajica tragedy. Today, a stone monument commemorates the massacre in the village, as well as the Museum of the Tokajická Tragedy. The local sulphur spring was unused until a few years ago. Recently, however, it has been revitalised, a path has been made and benches have been installed. The mineral spring is located by the signboard marking the beginning of the village.

A path of concrete blocks leads to the spring about 100 metres into the forest. The water from the spring is trapped in a 60 cm diameter concrete cliff with a depth of 0,5 metres. A newly constructed canopy protects the spring from pollution. The water flows out of the chute through a pipe with an intense smell of hydrogen sulphide. The water from the spring has a temperature of approximately 11 °C.
