Northeast of Slovakia - Regional Tourism Organisation (KOCR)

This organisation was established under the Act č. 91/2010 Z. z. on the promotion of tourism. The founder is the Prešov Self-Governing Region together with regional tourism organisations (OOCR).

Members

Activities, activities, objective:

To increase the number of visitors to the destination NORTHEAST OF SLOVAKIA through active cooperation of OOCR members and other entities in tourism, improving marketing, education, promotion, expanding products and services. The main purpose of the regional organisation is to promote tourism in the territory of its members. 

The regional organization actively creates conditions and implements activities aimed at the development of tourism in the territory of its members and protects the interests of its members. Effective cooperation of the members of the KOCR will bring the desired result in the field of tourism under the condition of joint coordination of the building of tourism infrastructure. A regional organisation may establish and operate other legal entities to carry out activities related to the fulfilment of the main purpose of the regional organisation.

The object of the regional organisation is:

a) support and creation of conditions for the development of tourism in the territory of the Prešov Self-Governing Region,
b) support the activities of its members in the creation and implementation of the concept of tourism development in the territory of the Prešov Self-Governing Region,
c) the creation and implementation of marketing and promotion of tourism for its members at home and abroad,
(d) promoting the common interests of its members,
e) cooperation with the authorities of the Prešov Self-Governing Region,
(f) the promotion of cultural, social and sporting life and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage,
g) organising events for residents and visitors,
(h) the provision of advisory and consultancy services to its members,
(i) promoting sustainable tourism development in a way that protects and preserves the environment and respects the way of life of the local population and property rights,
j) cooperation in the compilation and implementation of the concept of tourism development of the Prešov Self-Governing Region,
k) in cooperation with the authorities of the Prešov Self-Governing Region, elaboration and implementation of the annual plan of activities of the regional organisation,
(l) drawing up and approving the budget of the regional organisation,
m) initiating or ensuring the creation, management and presentation of tourism products,
(n) compiling an annual report, which it shall publish on its website,
o) establishing or setting up tourist-information offices, keeping records of tourist-information offices for the territory of the Prešov Self-Governing Region,
(p) business activity on the basis of valid permits issued in accordance with generally binding legislation.
(q) Submitting to the Department by March 15 of each year a document evidencing the amount of funds received from membership dues for the preceding fiscal year.
