Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Palota was destroyed during World War II. The entire interior furnishings were acquired after 1950.
The construction of the new church began in 1993, when the foundation stone was consecrated. In the same year, the church was completed and consecrated by the Orthodox Vladyka Nikolai. The exterior plastering was done the following year, as it was not possible to do it in time in 1993.
