Commemorative plaque in Sabinov - Shop on the Corniche

It is interesting for visitors that in Sabinov during the summer months in 1964 he filmed the film Shop on the Corniche. 

It was written in big letters in the history of Czechoslovak cinema when two years later the American Film Academy awarded it a golden statuette Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. According to an entry in the town chronicle, the filmmakers chose this town because of its unique preserved architecture, which in 1945 was almost completely unmarked by new buildings and best suited to the conditions of the directors.

Memorial plaque for this event is located in Liberty Square at house No. 68, because the original building has been demolished.
