The classicist manor house in Snina was built in 1781 on the site of the original wooden building Countess Therese van Dernáth. She was the granddaughter of the last male descendant of the famous Drugeth family that ruled Snina since the 14th century. The countess started the construction of the magnificent manor house, but she did not live to see its completion.

After Therese's death, the Countess's sons decided to take the manor and the town sell to the Rholl family. From 1799 onwards, the history of the Snina jewel began to be written. The Rholl family completed the construction of the manor and added a fountain with a statue of Hercules to the courtyard.

The two-storey manor house was a beautiful grand mansion with many rooms - bedrooms, dining room, guest rooms, count's salons, hall, kitchen, chamber. The courtyard of the manor could be reached by a spacious corridor with a horse-drawn carriage. The underground of the manor was interesting, with huge cellars, a large bread oven and a bathroom. An underground water supply fed a fountain with a statue of Hercules. In the past, the manor grounds also included French-style gardens a extensive English park, part of which has been preserved to this day.

After the Second World War, the manor became the seat of vocational schools and a home for young people. In 2009 it was bought by the town of Snina for the purpose of its complex reconstruction from the European Union funds. The reconstruction restored the splendour of the Snina manor house and even earned it the bronze title of Building of the Year 2013.
Today in the Snina manor house you can find museum expositions, gallery exhibitions and the town library. Very popular is the eye-catching museum exhibition "OZVENY SNINY", which captures three echoes of ancient times. The first room: when the oppidum - the town of Snina - is mentioned for the first time; when the new owners of Snina decide to build a manor house, which then lives its history; when the mythical Hercules is cast in Jozefovy Hamy.
