Temnosmrečinské pleso (High Tatras)

The Temnosmrečinské pleso are located in the beautiful surroundings of the Temnosmrečinská valley, which is the highest part of the Kôprová valley.

The Dark Forest consists of Lower and Higher Temnosmrečinské pleso. Touristy only the Lower is accessible, which lies at an altitude of 1 677 m above sea level. With its area of 12 hectares and a depth of 38 m, it is the third largest Tatra pleso. Above it lies the Vyšné Temnosmrečinské pleso (1 725 m above sea level), which has an area of 5.5 ha and a depth of 19 m.

Both mountains are also visible from Kôprovský štít (2 363 m) or from the opposite saddle of Závory (1 876 m).
