The beautiful Mlynecká valley is dominated by the charming high mountain Capie pleso. It is located at an altitude of 2 070 m above sea level and, like other lakes in the High Tatras, it was formed by the glacier.
Its name is related to the former abundance of chamois - capos in the Mlynicka valley. Capie pleso has an area of 3 ha and is 17 m deep.
It will enchant you not only with the beautiful surrounding scenery, but also with the crystal clear water, which reflects the peaks of the surrounding mountains. From its banks you can admire, for example, the legendary Diablovina or the pointed hill towering beside it Satan.
The starting point of hikes to Capie Ball is usually Strbské Pleso from where it is approximately 5 km along a marked hiking trail. From Capieho pleso it is possible to continue further towards Bystré saddle up to a narrow, terraced Furkot valley.
