Church of St. John the Baptist, Stráž pod Tatrami

The Church of St. John the Baptist in Stráž pod Tatrami near Poprad dates back to the 14th century. In 1777 the church was Baroque-ized.

On the main altar of the church there is a painting of the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan from the end of the 18th century. One of the side altars depicts the Divine Heart of Jesus and the other the Virgin Mary.

One of the most significant parts of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Stráž pod Tatrami is a bronze baptistery with a copper lid from the 14th century, which is one of the oldest baptisteries in Spiš.
