Nature Reserve Mirkovská iris meadow

The Mirkovská iris meadow was declared a nature reserve in 1979. It is a torso of the wetland biotope of the Košice basin preserved as a narrow gap surrounded by agricultural land.

It's Siberian Iris protected site. This high-value stabilising element in intensively used agricultural landscapes also provides refuge for many other protected species of plants and animals, such as the field rattlesnake (Crex crex).
