Humenne cycling route

For lovers of cycling, we present the Humensko cycling route (green sign, No. 5856) with a length of approximately 24 km and an elevation of 285 m. It runs mostly on asphalt and unpaved surface.

The start of the route is in front of the Dúha Leisure Centre. It is located on the South Square in Humenne near the Eiffel Tower's relative - the Valaškov Bridge, which the cycle route also passes through. We continue on to the village of Jasenov, above which tower the ruins of the castle of the same name. The route runs on asphalt in flat terrain. Before the end of the village we turn to the yellow sign, which leads us along a dirt unpaved road to Chlmec, where there was once a famous ski lift.

We continue again along the asphalt to the village of Ptičie, at the end of which the road surface changes again. The dirt road leads to Kamienka, where there is a water treatment plant. From this village we follow the asphalt road to Kamenice nad Cirochou. Ahead of us is about 1.5 km long transfer to Hažín nad Cirochou on the busy first class road. In Hažín we leave the road into the fields and head towards the Cirocha River, over which a suspension footbridge reminiscent of the Golden Gate Bridge leads. Lackovce is on the other bank.

Let's aim for Humenne. On the left side you will notice the recreational area L.A. with a bio-bathing area. Continue along the main road over the bridge over the Laborec River and the railway crossing. We enter Humenné and move along Osloboditeľov Street to the centre where we can visit unique open-air museum with a wooden temple, which was the first building in the area. It was brought there from Nová Sedlica, where its miniature is currently located.
