During the reign of Emperor Joseph II, who in 1781 issued the Patent of Toleration, which equalised all religions in Austria-Hungary, the Evangelicals of Hanus built this church in 1783 from spring to summer. On 20 August, it was consecrated by Superintendent Samuel Nikolai.
