City park in Levoca founded by Captain Arthur Wildburg and the local military garrison in 1835. At that time, Levoča lost its commercial importance and large markets were no longer held on the square. As a result, the main square was transformed into a city park with alleys and gazebos where artists performed.
The most important and frequent cultural events were the Sunday promenade concerts. The building was closed and the number of seats limited. However, regular event attendees could purchase season tickets for the entire season.
The park in the northern part of the Master Paul Square took the second place in the national competition Building of the Year 2006, right after the Apollo Bridge in Bratislava.
In the park there is also monument to Ludovít Štúr, linguist, writer, philosopher, pedagogue and above all an important representative of the Slovak national revival.
