The Tatra Mountain Running Series 2024 starts on May 4 in Stary ...

In the High Tatras the second year will start in a month Tatra Mountain Running SeriesThe series consists of five races in the high mountain environment in various localities of the High Tatras region. It is designed for the general sports public and presents the possibility get to know the beauty of our mountains through sports activities.

First event, CITY TRAIL, starts 4. may in Stary Smokovec and offers participants a unique experience of running through the city and nature.

Two weeks later, 18.May the competitors will gather in Tatranská Kotlinafrom where they will have a 5km route with 530m of elevation gain to Plesnivec cottage.

The goal of the third event is another alpine hut, this time near Green Ball. The race starts 8th June on White Water and participants will be tested on a 7.7km long track with a total elevation of 651m.

13 July the participants will meet in Nová Lesná, from where the 25th year of the run to the famous tourist resort Hrebienok starts. The route measures 9.37km, the elevation is almost 600m and the event is called Jan Still Memorial in memory of the most famous local mountain guide.

The series will culminate 1 September Mountain cross Gerlach. The race route starts in the village of Gerlachov in the Tatra foothills and after 8.4km will lead the participants to the finish at the highest hotel in Slovakia. The hotel area Silesian House, located at an altitude of 1670m will also be the venue for the announcement of the most successful competitors of the series.
A total of 16 winners in the announced age categories will take away beautiful commemorative trophies from the Sliez House of the Regional Tourism Organization of the High Tatras Region, which is a co-organizer of the series.

The event is realized with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
