The Zámutov Rocks Nature Reserve is located in the cadastres of the villages of Zámutov and Rudlov. The Zámutov Rocks are one of the most significant natural creations in the Slanské vrchy Mountains.
The Slanské vrchy Mountains are situated on the Jaseň and Čulkov ridges, which are separated by the Čaklovec stream. They are formed by isolated towers and 10 m high perpendicular rock walls. The object of protection is a large complex of rocks overgrown with native oak vegetation, stone rubble and relict flora.
The Zámutov Rocks are characterized by a thermophilic flora, which contrasts interestingly with the surrounding beech forests. Visitors are immediately attracted by the steep slopes on which beech-maple and lime-ash scrub grows. The upper parts of the ridges and the south-western slopes are covered with warm-loving oak trees.
Zámutov rocks are also famous for the occurrence of rare plant species, such as the common rock-rose, the common barberry and the common toadflax. Alpine currant and hanging rose also grow in the shade. The bird's-foot trefoil, common blackthorn, gooseberry, field maple, red elderberry and black elderberry are common.
The fauna is represented by a rich occurrence of deer and roe deer, tree snake, wall lizard and mountain lizard.
