Wooden church, Hrabová Roztoka

The Greek-Catholic wooden church of St. Basil the Great in Hrabova Roztoka was built in the middle of the 18th century and dedicated to one of the most important Eastern saints. The church has preserved its original form, as well as its iconostasis and the chancel dating from the time of the church's foundation.

It is a three-part, three-space, two-tower building with two crosses. The construction of the temple is log, the tower construction is columnar. A tower rises from the front of the wooden temple, covered with a truncated roof, on which an onion with a three-armed cross on the top is mounted. In the tower are suspended three bells - one of uncertain year and two from 1796. The second tower rising from the roof is above the sanctuary.

Iconost with four-aisle architecture dating from 1794 is a national cultural monument. A rarity are the Tsar's doors, which are set with ten medallions of Christ's genealogy instead of the usual four evangelists and the Annunciation of Jesse tree. The deacon's door has no wings.

In 2003, five icons were stolen from the wooden church in Hrabova Roztoka. They were damaged due to improper handling and need to be restored. They are stored outside the temple for the time being. The exterior was repaired in 2000.

Chrám je zapísaný ako národná kultúrna pamiatka.
