Can the view from above be perhaps more beautiful than the one from the basket balloon? In our opinion, no. Let everyone say what they want, fly over the Tatras is simply the best experience that you really never forget. A winter expedition balloon flight over the Western, High or Belianske Tatras can only be done in the months from November to March.
A flying balloon floats in height of 50 to 300 metres according to weather conditions. Winter flight takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours, which is longer than a classic balloon flight. The temperature above is only 1-2°C lower than on the ground, so there is no need to bring extra clothing.
But the experience doesn't end with the flying itself. After landing, a baptism ceremony takes place using the 4 earth elements with promotion to balloonist status and a champagne toast. Each crew member will also receive a baptismal certificate with their new name based on the landing site as a memento.
