Lovers of silence and nature we bring you a tip for a trip in the region of northern Spiš and Pieniny - Vengliská pond.
Approximately 1.5 km after Stara Ľubovňa in the direction of the village Hniezdne you will reach the Vengliská pond, which is a favourite place of fishermen from the nearby surroundings. It covers an area of 5 hectares and the water flows into it from the Veľký Lipník stream. The pond was created by extracting gravel during the construction of a textile factory and is home to various species of fish such as carp, grass carp, bream, bream, roach, tench, pike, perch and zander.
Vengliska is a place where you can relax, listen to the silence of nature and discover the beauty of the surrounding countryside. You can continue your pleasant walk around the pond along the dirt road towards the village of Jarabina, where you will find the Poplar Alley, which, besides its beauty, also offers a view of Ľubovňa Castle.
