Veľké Biele pleso (High Tatras)

Veľké Biele pleso is situated at an altitude of 1 615 m above sea level in the picturesque valley of the White Spit in the High Tatras. The lake offers visitors excellent views, which are very impressive especially in winter.

In the past, there was a Kežmarská chalet near the Great White Pleso, which burned down in 1974. An interesting fact is that a smugglers' trail once led through the nearby Kopské sedlo, which in the past transported goods from Poland to Hungary.

ROUTE: Tatranská Kotlina (760 m) - crossroads at Šumivom spring (0:30) - Plesnivec chalet (1 290 m) (1:00) - Veľké Biele pleso (1:30) - crossroads at Šalviovo spring (1:15) - Biela voda, bus stop (0:50). Total 5:05 h (data related to summer tourism).
