The Regional Gallery in Prešov is one of the oldest regional galleries in Slovakia. It was founded in 1956 as the Regional Gallery in Prešov.
Since 1981 the seat of the Regional Gallery has been the former town houses in the town conservation area. Currently owns more than 4,200 paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints from the 15th - 20th centuries. He focuses mainly on northeastern Slovakia, but he also seeks out the work of artists from all over eastern Slovakia.
Regional (ex. Šariš) Gallery develops varied exhibition and cultural-educational activities. At salons with international participation, it facilitates interesting meetings in cooperation with domestic and foreign galleries and authors. In addition, together with the city of Prešov, it also implements the so-called. Garden of Art, where the sculptures that were created at two editions of the International Sculpture Symposium are mounted.
