A unique mini open-air museum in Medzilaborce builds on the existence of the Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art. It introduces visitors to the traditional way of life of the Rusyns in eastern Slovakia, specifically in the Zemplín region. In addition, there is also a replica of the house where Andy Warhol’s parents were born, in Miková.
In the mini-open-air museum, you will find scaled-down replicas of Rusyn houses, charming little wooden cottages and a characteristic log-built church. The buildings are not the originals, but they are made using traditional folk techniques.
As well as providing information about these picturesque wooden cottages in the open-air museum, they also organise regular events of various kinds.

The Medzilaborce Mini Open-Air Museum is very easy to find. It is situated near the amphitheatre, right in Medzilaborce.
