Spišská Magura is a large flysch mountain range of the Outer Western Carpathians. The height of its more than 30 km long ridge is around 1 000 m above sea level and the highest peak Repisko reaches a height of 1 259 m above sea level.
In the eastern part of the mountains, the Mesozoic strata rise to the surface and at their fault line numerous mineral springs (Vyšné Ružbachy, Toporec).
Spišská Magura used to be a woodcutter and pastoral landscape. Until recently, it stood away from the traffic arteries and thus preserved a lot of folklore sights. So far, its unspoilt beauty and natural features have made it a region of tourist prospects.
