Cyclists can enjoy a new cycling route in Upper Zemplín, which connected Domaša and Slanské vrchy. The pedals will be pedalled approximately 35 kilometers.
The cycling route consists of two sections, Slovenská Kajňa - Slanské vrchy (5911 green) and Recreation Area (RO) Domaša Dobrá - Kvakovce (8941 yellow). The first one starts at the Municipal Office in Slovenska Kajna. The route continues along the third-class road to the village of Kvakovce, at the end of which an unpaved gravel and clay special-purpose road begins. This will take you to the village of Michalok. In its intravilánia, the surface of the route changes to a paved asphalt road and later it changes from a local road to a third-class road leading to Merník and Čičava.
Moving on beyond the village and at the crossroads before the town of Vranov nad Topľou turn off to Nižný Kručov, pass Komárany and continue to the village of Jastrabie nad Topľou, where we turn left to Soľ. In the centre of this village the route crosses the first class road on a marked pedestrian crossing. Continue along the local road and take the third-class road to Rudlov to the end of the cycling route, where you can connect to the existing red cycling route 023 - Alžbeta. The length of this section is 29.7 km with a total ascent of 432 m and a descent of 277 m.
The second section of the route starts in RO Domaša Dobrá at the bus stop and continues along the third class road to the village of Kvakovce. After the first kilometre turn onto a local asphalt road and later onto a gravel road. In the intraviláne of the village we will again take the asphalt road to the point where the cycling routes RO Domaša Dobrá - Kvakovce and Slovenská Kajňa - Slanské vrchy are connected. The length of this section is 4.5 km with a total ascent of 191 m and a descent of 139 m. The surface of the entire cycling route is suitable for MTB bikes.
