CYKLOTRASA - Border cycle route

CYKLOTRASA - Border cycle route

The Šariš region offers many beautiful cycling trips. One of them is the Border Cycle Route.

Celková dĺžka trasy je 70,5 km ale dá sa ísť aj cez poľské územie a tým sa ešte predĺži. Trasa vedie z Bardejova cez Zborov, Stebník, Kurov, Livov, Krivé, Mihaľov a späť do Bardejova.

We start from Bardejov and through Teheľňa and through the forest we get to Bardejov Spa. From there we go through the forest again on the road through Stebnicka Magura to Zborov and continue in the direction of Stebník and 3km after the village we turn left to Hutisko and continue on to the state border. Follow the border as far as Kurovske sedlo (State border at Hutisko - State border at Kurov: 10 km only as an estimate). From Kurovske sedlo go down to the crossroads and turn right on the I/77 road and before the village of Malcov turn left to Lukov. Here we can see the Greek-Catholic wooden church of St. Cosmas and Damian, which was built between 1708 and 1709. We go back the way we came and in the village of Kružlov we turn right and continue to Krivý, where there is another Greek Catholic wooden church of St. Luke from 1826. We continue on to Hervartov, where there is the only Roman Catholic wooden church of St. Francis of Assisi. It is also the oldest wooden church in the vicinity of Bardejov, which dates from around 1500. Back to Bardejov we can go along the road I/77 or through Mihalovo with a view of the town.

This route can be further extended by crossing the border into Poland at Hutisk to Blechnark, then to Wysów, via Tylicz and back to the Kurovské sedlo. Or from Tylicz you can go all the way to Poland's most famous spa resort, Krynica. Here you have a wide range of opportunities to relax and sample local Polish specialities.
