There are a number of thermal waters and acid waters on the territory of the Baldov district. The spring area of Baldovce is very rich in mineral waters. Baldovská mineral wateras we know it today, originates in the village of Baldovce, which was a popular spa area at the end of the 19th century. Baldov Spa were one of the most popular in Hungary at that time, as the price of rooms per night ranged from 50 to 80 graecars. The Kastor and Spa springs were used to treat stomach and skin diseases.
Waters from springs Deák a Lucia were bottled back in those days. In the 1930s, the spa began to focus primarily on the treatment of spinal disorders and convalescence. After World War II, the spas disappeared and the use of these mineral resources focused exclusively on the bottling process. Although Baldovská mineral water was used for drinking much earlier, the first bottling plant was built in the 1940s. Baldovská water is highly mineralised (up to 4 300 mg/l) and rich in mineral salts. It contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium and also other bicarbonates. At present, it is filled from the Deák and Polux water springs, which have a temperature of around 12 °C. The water from these springs helps with digestive problems and urinary tract diseases, including bile duct and kidney problems. The mineral springs in the vicinity of Baldovce are in some places already one metre below the surface, but due to rainwater and water from the surrounding fields they are not suitable for drinking.
