The area of north-eastern Slovakia is attractive for tourists also in winter. In addition to spa and wellness stays and gems of history, there are also interesting, maintained and unmaintained terrains for cross-country skiing.
The network of singletracks near Bardejov and Bardejovské Kúpele is covered with snow in winter and some of them are transformed into cross-country skiing tracks. There are 6 interconnected cycling trails in the vicinity of Bardejov with a length of almost 10 km. They consist of medicinal singletracks - Lekársky, Napoleon, Čerešenka and Herkules, the Oxygen path Mihalovo - Bardejov and the Oxygen track in Bardejovské Kúpele. There are also nearly 40 km of marked hiking trails.

- Bardejovské Kúpele in the direction of Zborov Castle - winter well - lake (5 km).
Already last year, the town of Bardejov started with the modification of the cross-country skiing track 5+5 km (round trip) on the ridge from Mihaľova - Bardejov to Griglova roveň. "This year, right after the first snowfalls between the holidays, we modified this route again and added a route Vinbarg Bardejov - Cherry Bardejov Spa, roughly the length of 5+5 km back and forth. We maintain it repeatedly by scooter," said Radomír Jančošek, director of OOCR Šariš - Bardejov.

Where to go skiing
Medvedie resort - Svidník district. Ski slopes are located about 300 meters behind the village in the direction of Šarbov, where you can enjoy an ideal family skiing. In the resort there are 3 lifts with a total transport capacity of 1470 persons per hour. The ski slopes are groomed and night skiing is also available. Free parking, a cafeteria and toilets are available for skiers.
Ski resort Makovica - situated in the picturesque countryside of the Low Beskydy Mountains, near the village of Nižná Polianka, in the district of Bardejov. You can enjoy skiing on a 900-meter ski slope with an excellent profile, with an elevation of 186 meters. The resort is accessible by car from the main road directly to the parking lot.
Winter resorts Regetovka and Stebnícka Huta are closed.
After skiing, but also instead of it, it is good to relax in warm water. In the northeast of Slovakia there is Aquaruthenia water world Svidník with indoor swimming pools and wellness facilities open all year round. In winter, there are skiing and tobogganing opportunities in the surrounding area.
It is open for tourists all year round Military museum with an exposition directly in Svidník. Directly in the city is also Slovak National Museum - Museum of Ukrainian Culture. It includes an open-air museum of folk architecture and the Dezider Milly Gallery.
In the category of national cultural monuments there are many in the vicinity of Svidník and Bardejov wooden temples (Tročany, Krivé, Kožany, Lukov, Frička, Jedlinka, Mikulášová, Dobroslava and many others). Some of them - in Bodružal, Ladomirova and Hervartov are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Bardejov Spa located 5 km from Bardejov. It belongs to the most popular and oldest Slovak spas. Guests have a choice of two wellness complexes. The larger Wellness Spa - pool and sauna world is in the Ozón Hotel and the smaller one (without swimming pool) is in the Alexander Congress Hotel. In the Wellness Spa complex it is possible to use the swimming pool and sauna world daily.
The real jewel of tourism is the historic town of Bardejov UNESCO inscribed. Visitors can admire the Town Hall Square with its beautiful Gothic town houses, the Basilica of St. Egidius Minor, the former Town Hall - the first Renaissance building in Slovakia, which houses the Šariš Museum. Among the jewels are Bardejov suburbium - Old synagogue in Bardejov.
It is also popular Forestry nature trail ČIERNA MLÁKA in Bardejov Spa and the local Skanzen - Museum of Folk Architecture. A pleasant destination for trips is also the agro-tourism facility in Stebnícka Huta Sunny Majer and the castle The Choir.
