Visitors can use the services of a ski school, ski equipment rental, a simple ski service, a storage room and a cafeteria.
Skialp trips in the foothills of the Tatras
In the foothills, not only skiers, but also ski mountaineers will find their place. Our tips:
Vernár - Predná hoľa - Kráľová hoľa: from the Studničky Hotel in Vernár you ascend the slope to the top and from there along the ridge to Front mountain. The moderately difficult 5.9 km long route can be completed in 3 hours (downhill in 30 minutes). And who has excellent fitness, can continue up to King's Mountain (8.8 km and 3 h. 20 min. upwards).
Liptovská Teplička - Panská hoľa: from the Dolinka guesthouse in Liptovská Teplička you climb up the slope to the top and from there through meadows and forests to Panská hora. You can complete the moderately difficult 5.5 km route in 2 hours 30 minutes, and return in 30 minutes along the same route.
Lopušná Dolina - Kozí kameň: from the hotel in Lopušná Dolina there is a 3.7 km long climb (approx. 2 hours) through the forest and along the ridge to Goat stone, 1244 m above sea level. You will see the High Tatras again from a completely different perspective.
Cross-country trails in the foothills
The popular cross-country skiing trails (classic) 10 - 15 km long are directly on the golf course in Veľká Lomnica - just take the train from Poprad to Tatranská Lomnica (stop Veľká Lomnica - Golf) or on the Patria hill opposite in the direction of Old Forest - from there you can walk to Tatranská Lomnica. On your return, you should treat yourself to great meals at the Lesná Hotel****. Cross-country skiing trails can also be found from Mengusovce to Štôle or in the nearby Lopušná Dolina.
Dog sledding in Veľká Lomnica and ice skating in Stara Lesna
A small family or a larger group can order dog sledding in the meadows opposite the Black Stork golf course in Veľká Lomnica (or driving range if there is enough snow), including unusual "masher" refreshments. If that's not enough, head to the International**** hotel right on the golf course for delectable meals and exquisite desserts, then warm up in the saunas and take a dip in the indoor and outdoor swimming pools.. For groups it is also possible to organize winter golf competitions on the tee (or in a simulator in a hotel), or even carling. Skating we recommend the Horizont Hotel**** in Stará Lesná.
What can be seen in winter?
V Liptovská Teplice you will enjoy views of the terraced fields, preserved barns and unique potato cellars. More than 400 cellars dug perpendicularly into the ground (2.5-3 m) create a unique scenery of European uniqueness. Thanks to the limestone and the stable temperature of 2-6 °C, the stored foodstuffs retain their good quality throughout the year. The village is also home to the memorial house of Mons. Štefan Náhalka (papal prelate and founder of the Institute of St Cyril and Methodius in Rome) with a display of traditional folk living. You can also visit the Teplice Room Museum. Also in winter, a 6.5 km long nature trail (can be shortened to only 2 km) will take you through the surroundings of the village. In the village there are two ski resorts Ski Smrečiny and Ski Park.
It is also worth stopping by the village Stôla. We recommend to take a walk to Janosik Waterfall on the Poprad River, light candles at the military cemetery and visit Glass studiowhere you will be captivated by the secrets of making beauty from glass.
