It seems that winter has finally arrived in the Prešov region. Although the ski resorts are closed due to the coronavirus, we can enjoy the snow in a different way. With limited travel options, cross-country skiing gives us the greatest freedom today.

Cross-country skiing trails in the Tatras
The largest cross-country skiing area in the Tatras is Strbské Pleso. Offered by 7 professionally groomed running circuits in length from 0.5 to 5 km. During the usual season, both professional and amateur races are held here. The SNOW cross-country skiing area can be used during the whole winter season thanks to artificial snow.
Resorts Tatranská Lomnica, Starý Smokovec and surroundings offer a total of more than 30 km of cross-country ski trails of easy and medium difficulty. Both advanced runners and beginners will find something to do here.
Black Stork Golf Resort in Veľká Lomnica turns into a pleasant cross-country skiing area in winter with more than 10 km of trails and cycle path between Spišská Bela and Tatranská Kotlina in winter it is a 9 km easy cross-country track.
Trails for cross-country skiing in the surroundings of Snina
In the Snina district and the surrounding area there are two interesting cross-country skiing trails - around the Sea Eye with a length of 22 km and the next one leads from Zemplínské Hámrov along the route of the Sninská narrow gauge railway to the locality Pri Umretom. It is also possible to continue in the direction of Kolonica. Cross-country skiers also like the surroundings of the village Runina. Interesting, but more for backcountry cross-country skiers, can also be the route from Nová Sedlice to Honey baba.

Levoča Nordic Centre is a sports complex focused on cross-country skiing in a beautiful environment Levoca Hills. It offers groomed trails of varying difficulty from 400 m to 5 km with views of the jewels of Slovakia - Spiš Castle and the High Tatras.
