Prešov district
A trail leads to the Bodoň castle from the village of Zlatá Baňa. The visitor can climb the Makovica hill, visit the village of Abranovce or walk through the Ráca valley to the Heteť saddle.
Raslavkameň
This interesting natural creation, shrouded in legends, lies about 2.5 kilometres from the village of Abranovce. From the village, the stone can be reached by a marked hiking trail in about 30 minutes. The hike - a walk - can also be done by children.
One of the interesting tips for a trip is the Lysá stráž hill - 696 m above sea level. There are several hiking trails leading to the Lysá stráž hill. The most frequented routes include the road from Terňa and Kanas, approximately 4.5 kilometres. You will be rewarded with a beautiful view.
District of Bardejov
Busov
For all lovers of walks in places little visited by tourists, where there will be only you, untouched nature and silence, we recommend the Busov mountain with its eponymous hill. Cigeľka, which is famous for its springs of healing mineral water, is nearby.
Lookout tower at the King's Well
The lookout tower is most easily reached from the village of Lenartov (green tourist sign - above the cemetery) and from the village of Obručné (red tourist sign). The lookout tower rises to a height of 13 metres and it is the highest lookout tower in the Bardejov district.
Zborov Castle
Not far from Bardejov is the ruin of Zborov Castle, also called Makovica. You can get there on foot from the village of Zborov, from Bardejovské Kúpele there is a nature trail leading to the castle, which is 8 km long and has 6 stops.
Humenné district
National Nature Reserve Humenský sokol
It offers spectacular natural scenery and is part of the Humenne Hills. From the top of Červená skala (477 m above sea level) you can enjoy views of the town of Humenné, Brekov Castle, Jasenov Castle, Jasenov village and the surrounding countryside.A rarity is the remarkable Dúpna Cave with a massive portal, which remembers the times of the dinosaurs.
Vihorlat Protected Landscape Area
Vihorlat is a beautiful volcanic mountain range, whose geographical location and special geological development are responsible for, among other things, the formation of the Morské oko lake, the Snina Stone and unique upland peat bogs. It is the easternmost extinct volcano in Slovakia.
Jasenov Castle
Jasenovský castle situated at an altitude of 392 m above sea level on the wooded back of the Humenne Hills offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Marked hiking trails from the surrounding villages lead to the castle.
District Kežmarok
From Brezova to Hradiska dolka
The Brezová Hill is easily accessible along the green hiking trail from the village of Hradisko.
Repisko
The highest peak of the Spišská Magura Mountains is Repisko (1 259 m above sea level), located approximately 4 km northwest of the village of Ždiar. The border of the Tatra National Park and the protection zone of the Pieniny National Park runs through the peak.

The rock town of Dreveník and the nature trail
Drevenik is the largest travertine formation in Slovakia (3 km²). The protected area is part of the Sivá Brada - Dreveník nature trail, where visitors can see the so-called travertine mounds. The length of the trail is 14.5 km.
Grey Beard
A protected area, which is also interesting because it is a "living" travertine area, which is constantly expanding thanks to the springing water. There are three mineral springs on the Grey chin and in the past there was a geyser here. The Baroque Chapel of the Holy Cross from 1675 is certainly the dominant feature of the area.
SNP Memorial - Levoča Hills
One of the traditional destinations of trips to this area is the memorial to the victims of the Second World War, located below the Javorina hill, at an altitude of 1134 m above sea level. Near the memorial there is a tourist shelter with a beautiful view not only of the Levoča Mountains, but also of the High and Low Tatras. The starting point for hikes to this area can be the town of Levoča.
District Medzilaborce
Devil's Stone
The Devil's Stone provides tourists with a magnificent view of the surrounding region and the town of Medzilaborce itself. The sandstone rock is especially popular for the engraved relief of the devil's head. You can get there by a pleasant walk directly from the village of Krásný Bord.
Monastyr Krasny Brod
One of the oldest monasteries and indulgence places in Slovakia, also known as "Rusnácky Devín", was built in the 14th century on the site where a blind beggar was miraculously healed.
Kyčera viewpoint
The Kyčera observation tower is a newly built object from which you can observe the wide surroundings of the town of Medzilaborce. It is almost 10 metres high, has three floors and is made of wood.

Unique cellars in Liptovská Teplička
Approximately 13 km from Štrba is the picturesque foothill village of Liptovská Teplička. It is especially famous for its unique potato cellars, which resemble small hobbit houses. They reach a depth of about 2.5 - 3 m.

District Sabinov
Sleeping monk
The rock formation Sleeping Monk near the village of Kamenica is a popular place for excursions. From afar, it attracts attention with its unusual shape, which resembles the figure of a reclining monk up to 150 metres long. [trippreview:7183]
Kamenice Castle
On a limestone cliff in the Čergov Mountains lies the ruins of Kamenický Castle. Today, thanks to restoration, life is returning to it again.
Altar stone, Lysá
At Drienica we recommend a walk to Lysá. In addition to the beautiful nature, you can see the monument of history - the Altar Stone. The huge boulder, which you can find east of the top of Lysá near the green hiking trail, is a testimony to the cult customs of our ancestors.
District Snina
Poloniny NP
It is located on the border with Poland and Ukraine in the Bukovské Hory (Bukov Mountains). The highest mountain is Kremenec (1 221 m above sea level), which is located at the point where the borders of Poland, Ukraine and Slovakia meet. The main starting point for a visit to the Poloniny Mountains is the village of Nová Sedlica.
Snina Stone
Sninský Kamen is a natural monument located in the Vihorlat Mountains above the village of Zemplínske Hámre. It is part of the Vihorlatský prales area, which is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.
Nature trail Morské oko - Sninský kameň - Sninské rybníky
The starting point is the village of Remetské Hámre. The nature trail has three routes - part 1 (around Morské oko lake, 4 km), part 2 (Morské oko - Sninský kameň, 4 km), part 3 (Sninský kameň - Sninské rybníky, 8 km) with a total length of 24 km and an elevation of 490 m. There are 10 stops on the route. The trail has a natural, historical and conservation focus.
District Stará Ľubovňa
Plaveč Castle
The castle can be reached on foot from the village of Plaveč in about 10 min. Entrance to the ruins of Plaveč Castle is free. Since 2014, the castle has been undergoing restoration.
Jarabinsky breakthrough
In the region of northern Spiš and Pieniny there is an exceptional protected nature reserve, which has the character of a gorge or a canyon. It is the Jarabinský breakthrough, also known as the Jarabinské gorges.
Witch Mountain
Čierna hora (1 289.4 m above sea level) is the highest peak of the Levoča Mountains, located in the central part of the mountain range. It is located on the territory of the former military district of Javorina about 6 km east of the village of Ihľany, 10 km southeast of Podolínec and about 12 km south of Stara Ľubovňa.

A two-storey observation tower was built near Stropkov in 2018, from which you can see this picturesque town and its wide surroundings.
Hill Mine
The shortest hiking trail to the Baňa hill (526 m above sea level) is from the picturesque village that bears the same name. Despite the fact that it is a smaller sandstone hill, after a short walk you will be pleasantly surprised by the views of the surrounding nature.
War cemetery in the village of Veľkrop
8662 soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian and Russian armies are buried in the largest war cemetery in north-eastern Slovakia, located in the village of Veľkrop. The war cemetery is a national cultural monument.
District Svidník
Death Valley
One of the strongest places of the First and Second World War was the Valley of Death in the vicinity of Kapišová, where the heaviest battles took place with a massive deployment of tanks. In the surrounding forests you can still hide in the preserved bunkers.
War cemetery in Hunkovce
The war cemetery of German soldiers in Hunkovce dates back to the Second World War. Almost 3,100 German soldiers found their final resting place in the Hunkovce cemetery.
Lookout tower Čierna Hora
The tourist lookout tower was built in 2006. The total height of the lookout tower with a roof is 18 m. The red tourist track passes through the tourist attractive locality of Čierna hora, which continues to Makovický saddle, to Makovica hill and through Zborov to Stebnicka Magura.
District Vranov nad Topľou
Čičva Castle
It was originally a guard fortress at the "Polish Gate" pass. You can get there on foot from Sedliská - Podčičva (bus stop) by following the green sign for 20 minutes.
Bila Hura forestry nature trail
Located in the southern part of the town of Vranov nad Topľou. The route of the nature trail, on which there are 10 stations with boards, ends at Na Hrunku.
