HUMENNÉ/BRATISLAVA (12 March 2015) - Travel comfortably, safely, ecologically and quickly. That's how travellers today imagine the ideal way to get to their destinations. One increasingly popular option is to travel by car train.
Are you already thinking about where to go during the summer season? Transport planning is certainly one of those considerations. How to get to your destination comfortably, safely and, if possible, quickly. There are many options at the moment, in Slovakia, the dominant modes of transport are by car, rail and bus. Longer routes are ideally covered by train. But then what if you want to travel to other places and would prefer to use a car? Preferably your own. Once unthinkable, this is now thankfully an increasingly popular option thanks to car trains. The Railway Company of Slovakia (ZSSK) connects the east of Slovakia with the west by car trains and has even added a connection to Prague. In the evening, you board the train, load the car onto a special carriage and in the morning, fresh and rested, you can take the car wherever you need to go.
ZSSK currently operates three interstate coach trains between Slovakia and the Czech Republic. On the line Poprad-Tatry - Prague and back jazdí jeden nočný autovlak a na trati Košice - Prague and back there are two trains, one day and one night train, with the night train running from 14 December 2014 to from/to Humenne. In addition, it is also possible to use one national bus train on the line Bratislava - Humenné and back.

Car transport by train across Slovakia between Bratislava and Humenne is possible from Monday to Sunday via the night express train Zemplín (R 614/615). The train departs before midnight from Bratislava and in the opposite direction in the evening before half past ten from Humenné. Since mid-December last year, ZSSK has expanded the possibilities of transport by completing the car ramp in Bratislava and Košice. Cars can now also be loaded on the upper platform, thus extending the services of the autotrain for owners of other types of vehicles.
Majiteľ automobilu zaplatí za svoju prepravu aj auto od 49,90 €. The more people travelling in one car, the better the price. It is also convenient to buy a return ticket.
