PREŠOV (2 November 2016) - Prešov Region is looking for the best in tourism for 2016. The Regional Tourism Organisation of the North-East of Slovakia has prepared the third year of the Best in Tourism Award of the Prešov Region. The public can nominate personalities, products, facilities and employees who contributed to the development of tourism in the region in 2016.
Tourism is linked to a wide range of services and activities that influence its quality and overall growth. The main task of the Best in Tourism Awards of the Prešov Region is to to appreciate and motivate people who work in tourism and help in its development and can be Thanks to their qualities of a role model for others. The organiser of the award is KOCR Northeast of Slovakia.
"We invite the general public to introduce us to smart people working in tourism, quality facilities and their employees and exceptional products of 2016, which are related to the tourism of the Prešov region. Once again we want to recognize those who are making a contribution in this field and can be an example and inspiration to colleagues, young followers, the professional and lay public," said Martin Janoško, director of KOCR Northeast of Slovakia.
Nominations can be made in the following categories:
I. Tourism Personality: (decided by the expert committee)
A) Lifelong contribution in the field of CR
B) CR development in local government
C) CR education
D) CR business
II. BEST CR product (decided by an expert committee and one product will be selected by the public in an online voting)
III. BEST CR facility: (decided by the public in an online vote)
A) BEST cultural facility
B) BEST entertainment/relaxation facility
C) The best CR information facility
D) BEST ACCOMMODATION
E) BEST restaurant
F) BEST café, bar, tea room
IV. BEST CR employee (decided by the public in online voting)
The category includes employees in the field of CR services (chef, waiter, barista, bartender, sommelier, receptionist and guides/informants in tourist and cultural establishments).
The proposer of the nomination shall remain anonymous.
The jury and the public will decide
From the nominations, the winning personalities and products will be selected by an expert jury. The best facilities, employees and one most popular product will be selected by the public in an online vote from December 12, 2016 to January 12, 2017. In last year's online voting, nearly 20 000 votes.
Nominations can be submitted until 30 November 2016 by post to KOCR Northeast Slovakia, Námestie mieru 2, 080 01 Prešov or by mail to media@presovregion.travel. Contact form a conditions for nomination are set out in the Annex. We do not disclose the proposers of the nominations.
The award ceremony will take place on 26 January 2017 at the ITF Slovakiatour international tourism exhibition in Incheba Expo in Bratislava at the Prešov Region stand.
