The jury selected the TOP photos of the Prešov region

The Go and Shoot photo contest knows its winners. The expert jury, chaired by the well-known photographer Ján Štovka, selected the best shots of the Prešov region in four categories. Voters on the social network will also choose their winner. 

The competition was open to amateur and professional photographers, whose task was to capture the beauty and attractions of the Prešov region in photographs. The photos had to be taken between 1 January and 5 September 2015. The assignments were four competition categories1. Black & white, 2. Nature, 3. Culture, traditions and history and 4. Sport and sports activities.

The jury composed of photographer Ján Štovka (chairman of the jury), photographers and teachers of the SOŠ Košická - Pavol Kovaľ and Peter Grejták, for the Prešov Self-Governing Region Mrs. Veronika Fitzeková and for the KOCR Northeast of Slovakia Martin Janoško selected the TOP photographs of the individual categories.

"I'm glad that people are coming, discovering and photographing the Prešov region and taking their creations to the market with their skins. As the absolute winner we in the jury chose Jozef Klein with the photograph Mountains Beloved, while the whole series of photographs by this author is worthy of attention and will find its place of honour in the upcoming exhibition," said Ján Štovka, chairman of the jury.

Winning photos will be exhibited in a separate exhibition Go and take pictures in the premises of the Jonáš Záborský Theatre (DJZ) in Prešov. During the opening ceremony, which will take place on 23 October in the foyer of the DJZ, the award-winning authors will be awarded diplomas and selected authors will also receive material prizes. 

PUBLIC VOTE
From 24 September to 20 October it is possible vote for the three most popular photos of the fans of the Northeast of Slovakia on Facebook. The authors of the three photos with the highest number of votes will receive prizes from HM Print (gift vouchers for printing photos worth 2 × 10 € and 1 × 15 €).
