The championship titles will be awarded on 25 and 26 March 2023 to the best competitors from cross-country ski clubs from all over Slovakia, and neighbouring countries have already shown interest. More than 300 cross-country skiers will compete in the youth, adolescent, adult and veteran categories. Part of the top event of the Cup. The FIS Cup endurance races are also part of the Slovak Ski Association's top event. Non-registered competitors in the Open men's and women's categories can also start.
On Friday 24.3. at 18:15 will be the opening ceremony in the Culture House in Štrbawhere we will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of sports classes at Štrba Primary School and welcome the participants with speeches by guests and a short cultural programme.
On Saturday 25.3. in the cross-country skiing area at Štrbské Pleso at 9:30 a.m. attractive sprints of pairs in free technique in pupil, adolescent and senior categories will start. Each competitor of the pair will complete two or three sections of 500 - 1200 meters long depending on the age category in a relay manner.
On Sunday, March 26, there will be an endurance race in classic technique, where the main categories will run from 9:30 a.m. FIS international race. The men will complete a 30 km course and the women a 15 km course. The FIS Cup International Round will also be run by competitors under 18 years of age on the 10 and 7.5 km tracks. The veteran categories will also fight for the championship titles at noon. The junior categories will start in the afternoon on courses ranging from 2.8 to 5 kilometres long. Competitors in all age categories registered in the Association of Slovak Skiing can start and Štrbské Pleso will again be visited by several dozen foreign competitors. Non-registered cross-country skiers can also compete on Sunday in the men's Open 10km and women's Open 5km categories using the classic technique with mass start.
The organizer of the race is a 70-member team of volunteer referees from the Štrba Sports Club, which in January also prepared the 49th year of the Tatra Cup in cross-country skiing and on 2 April is preparing the 9th year of the public race Štrbské cross-country skiing.
The event is realized in cooperation with the Regional Tourist Organization of the High Tatras Region and the municipality of Štrba with the financial support of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic.
During the weekend there will be several restrictions in the Štrbské Pleso cross-country skiing area, about which every visitor can find information on the website of the area www.abl.sk . On Saturday 25.3. in the morning all tracks near the stadium will be closed, in the afternoon there will be an open circuit on the mlynicka meadow and during the day visitors can ski in the Furkot valley with access on the Jamska road from the Hotel Solisko. On Sunday 26.3. all FIS trails in Furkotská dolina will be closed and only Mlynická lúka will be open until 15:00.
