A series of the most beautiful photographs from the eighth year of the photography competition "Go and take pictures" started to travel across the Prešov region. It is open to the public from today in OC Novum Prešov.
"We have placed the exhibition in this shopping centre as part of compliance with all epidemiological measures. Although the current situation does not favour public and cultural events, we are happy to we would please at least those who come to the department store for shopping, drugstore or pharmacy," approaches the intention of the exhibition location Martin Janoško, Executive Director of KOCR Northeast Slovakia.
Every year the exhibition of photographs is connected with the opening ceremony, during which the KOCR Northeast of Slovakia rewards the winners of the photographic competition "Go and take pictures". The traditional time of the opening is the Advent season. "In connection with the ban on assembly, we had to the date of the opening of Go and Shoot 2020 to be postponed indefinitely. As soon as the situation permits, we plan to hold the opening in OC Novum Prešov," adds Janoško.
The Go and Shoot photo contest had a record-breaking year
The Go and Shoot photo competition is growing in popularity every year. In the eighth year, a record 820 images were submitted, divided into six categories. Two new categories were new in the last edition of the Go and Shoot competition. In addition to the traditional Nature; Culture, Traditions and History; Sport and Leisure and Black & White, professional and amateur photographers could enter their works in the categories Man and region a Architecture. Photographers in the category Man and Region captured people and their moments during everyday activities, work or relaxation. Also in its eighth year, the prize was awarded Grand Prix and the Jury President's Prize. Another novelty in the last edition was also the North-East of Slovakia award, granted by the Regional Tourism Organisation.
KOCR Northeast of Slovakia annually compiles a calendar from the winning photographs. For 2021, it has the attribute Beloved Prešov region and is also available at www.presovregion.travel
