PREŠOV/POPRAD (December 18) - Poprad schoolchildren combined fantasy with history and the result is the book Rumours from Five Towns.
The inauguration of the book Tales from Five Towns began with a theatre play Poprad I Like performed by pupils from the Letná School on Monday evening in Spišská Sobota.
"Pokrstili" ju písmenkami poslanec Prešovského samosprávneho kraja a zároveň primátor Popradu Jozef Švagerko, poslanec PSK Milan Baran a najmladší autor jednej z povestí Tadeáš Jurčo zo ZŠ s MŠ Koperníkova z Matejoviec za účasti riaditeľky Podtatranskej knižnice v Poprade Anny Balejovej.
Booklet, which is 78 pages long and contains 27 stories and 23 drawings written by schoolchildren from Poprad. They were inspired by historical facts or events, which with the help of their own imagination they transformed into stories, e.g. about the Poprad ravens, the White Lady, the disappearance of the castle at Zámčisko atď. A. Balejová uviedla: "Do projektu Mystérium starý Poprad, autorom ktorého je publicista a historik Mikuláš Argalács v spolupráci s našou knižnicou, sa zapojilo 9 základných škôl a deti poslali 91 povestí a 107 výtvarných prác." Bolo teda z čoho vyberať.
The book was published in an edition of 500 copies by the Podtatranská Library with the financial contribution of the town of Poprad. The mayor wished the book success and hopes that the rumours about our town will spread further.
