The third year of cooperation of castles in Eastern Slovakia again brings visitors a competition for the royal crown. Anyone who obtains at least three castle stamps can enter the draw for the crown. The competition is held with a leaflet, which visitors can find in the information centres and at castle events.
Just visit the events in three of the thirteen castles - Ľubovňa, Plaveč, Kamenica, Šariš, Kapušany, Šebeš, Soľnohrad, Čičva, Brekov, Jasenov, Stropkov, Obišov Castle and also the Polish castle Muszyna.
This year the competition for the crown is also based on stones from Polish castles. "We want to attract more Polish tourists. At castles such as Šariš, Kapušany or Brekov there is already a relatively good tourist infrastructure, including an information centre, but the number of Polish tourists here is barely one percent.," said Martin Sárossy, coordinator of the competition.
A high number of Polish visitors has Ľubovňa Castle. Last year it was 34 192, which makes up to 28 % of the total number of visitors. That is why an attraction in the shape of a castle gate will be placed under Ľubovňa Castle with an invitation to other eastern Slovak castles that are further away from the border.
The draw will take place on 23.11.2019 at the Save the Castles conference. As many ballots will be entered into the drawing as the number of castles from which the contestant receives stamps, up to a maximum of thirteen. The first winner drawn will receive a royal crown. Another 10 new winners will receive a book about saving castles in Slovakia.
