Prešov, Svidník, Medzilaborce (July 2) - The Prešov Region will again be more accessible to foreign and domestic visitors. The Regional Tourism Organisation of North-East Slovakia in cooperation with SAD Humenné, a. s., OZ Vranov n/T, will operate a seasonal bus line between Medzilaborce and Svidník during the summer. The connection runs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3 July to 6 September 2020.
The seasonal bus is directly connected to the train line Sanok - Łupków - Medzilaborce, which is operated by Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko, a. s. Polish visitors have the opportunity to get to know history, art, culture and architecture of northeastern Slovakia. During the trip they will visit unique monuments of the Prešov region, which is known for its cultural richness.
"There are many wooden temples in the region, several of them are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Passengers of the tourist bus during one route will visit The Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art, the Monastery in Krásný Brod, several wooden churches, but also, for example, the Military History Museum in Svidník. However, we have prepared the excursion offer in such a way that it will be interesting for domestic tourists as well," explains Martin Janoško, Executive Director of KOCR Northeast Slovakia.
Foreign visitors can also take advantage of the possibility of staying overnight in the locality of Svidník, where a two- or three-day complete tourism product is prepared for them. They invite you to visit the Dukla battlefield, the water world in Svidník or the Valley of Death.
The tourist bus departs from Medzilaborce at 10:35 on the above mentioned days, arrival to Svidník is scheduled for 16:25.The connection is subject to a single fare in the total amount of 3,- € per person. The Prešov Self-Governing Region has also arranged transport of passengers from Svidník back to Medzilaborce so that they can fully board the train connection Medzilaborce - Łupków - Sanok with departure from Medzilaborce at 17:48.
