The Regional Tourism Organisation of the North-East of Slovakia has announced the 8th year of the photography competition "Go and take pictures".
The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers. Their role is to capture the beauty and attractions of the Prešov region. Popular competition every year culminates with the opening and travelling exhibition of the final photographs. The winners will be decided by expert jury, which will again be chaired by well-known photographer Jano Štovka (MQEP).
Photos can be sent until 15 October 2020 at chodafot@presovregion.travel. The condition is that the photo was taken on the territory of the Prešov Region.

- Man and Region (portraits, interesting photographs from the life of ordinary inhabitants of the region)

New categories
The Go and Shoot photography competition is becoming more and more popular every year, as evidenced by the fact that the number of entries is increasing year by year. KOCR Northeast of Slovakia tries to make the competition even more attractive for the public. Therefore, two new categories will be new in the 8th edition Man and region a Architecture. In the first category, photographers will be able to submit images of people capturing their daily activities, work, relaxation, etc. The main condition is still that the photo must be taken in the territory of the Prešov Region. In the second new category, there is an opportunity to capture unique architectural monuments, buildings or houses also found in the territory of the Prešov Region.
Each contestant can enter the competition send max. 6 photos. The winners in the six categories will be decided by an expert jury. The fans of the Northeast of Slovakia on Facebook will also choose their favourite.
The aim of the photo competition is to promote the attractions of the Prešov Region through photographs and a travelling exhibition. The photo competition for the most beautiful pictures of the Prešov Region has already had six editions and the interest in it grows every year. Each year, the finalists and winners of the competition can also enjoy a joint travelling exhibition, which traditionally starts in the Jonáš Záborský Theatre in Prešov and travels around Slovakia and abroad.

PHOTO CONTEST RULES Go and shoot 2020:
1. The competition is organised by the Regional Tourism Organisation of the North-East of Slovakia.
2. The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers.
3. The photograph submitted to the competition must be the work of the author who submitted it to the competition.
4. The competition is open to digital photographs and also scanned photographs from 35mm film.
5. The photographs must be in high resolution, in JPG (JPEG) format, so that the photograph can be enlarged to A3 format - with a minimum resolution of 1600 dots (pixels) on the longer side at 300 dpi.
6. The competition is open to single author send together maximum 6 photos.
7. The competition is announced in six categories: 1. Nature, 2. Culture, traditions and history, 3. Sport and sports activities, 4. Black & white, 5. Human, 6. Architecture
8. Photographs in all categories must be taken exclusively on the territory of the Prešov Region until 15 October 2020.
10. Competition photos must be sent to until 15 October 2020 by 23:59 hrs. electronically to e-mail: chodafot@presovregion.travel (possibly via the repository). The photographs can also be delivered on digital media CD or DVD in person or by post to the address.
11. To the competition photos is to be specified:
- author's name and surname,
- Author's age,
- author's place of residence, contact (e-mail, phone number),
- title of photo,
- description to the photo - place and date of creation,
- the name of the relevant competition category,
12. After sending photos to the email address chodafot@presovregion.travel, the author of the photos will receive an email with the formin which he/she confirms his/her agreement to the Competition Rules and to the protection of personal data (GDPR). In the case of sending photos from one email address more than once, the author will receive a confirmation of consent to the Rules of the competition and to the protection of personal data (GDPR) only once to his/her email address.
13. The organizer of the competition reserves the right, depending on the number and quality of the competition photos, to move the competition photos to another category, to award more prizes within the category, or to award no prizes in the category.
14. The winners of the competition will be decided by an expert jury. One winner will also be chosen by the public by voting on the Facebook profile of the KOCR Northeast of Slovakia.
15. By sending a photo the contestant gives to the organizer of the competition and to the co-organizer of the competition - the Prešov Self-Governing Region permission to use the work to the extent of its publication, archiving, reproduction and publication of the work with an indication of the author of the photograph, without the author's right to remuneration, to which he is entitled pursuant to Section 19(2) of Act No. 185/2015 Coll. on Copyright. Acceptance of this arrangement shall be deemed to be acceptance of a gratuitous licence.
16. By submitting a photo, the author agrees to the terms and conditions of the competition.
