Prešov, Svidník, Medzilaborce (25 June) - On the route Medzilaborce - Svidník will also during this summer operate the tourist bus Horný Zemplín, which will be dispatched by the Regional Tourism Organization of the North-East of Slovakia in cooperation with SAD Humenné, a. s., OZ Vranov n/T and the Department of Transport of the Prešov Self-Governing Region. Travellers have the opportunity to get to know the art, architecture, culture, history and gastronomy of the extreme tip of the Northeast of Slovakia in one day.
The Horný Zemplín tourist bus will run on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 July to 19 September 2021. The seasonal line directly follows the train connection Sanok - Łupków - Medzilaborce, operated by Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko, a. s.
"Not only Slovak, but also Polish visitors coming from the Podkarpackie Voivodeship can get to know the region of Upper Zemplín, which is known for its cultural and natural wealth, better during the upcoming summer season. With this link we would like to follow up on last year's pilot project. This year, however, the line will be even more attractive from the passenger's point of view, as visitors guided through the stops by an experienced guide," reveals Martin Janoško, Executive Director of KOCR North-East of Slovakia.
Compared to last year, the route of the tourist bus will be slightly changed. Passengers will gradually visit The Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art, the Miniskanzen of Wooden Churches in Medzilaborce, the Monastyr in Krásný Brod, the Village Museum in Driečná , the War Cemetery in Hunkovce, the wooden church in Ladomirová, the Military History Museum in Svidník or the local open-air museum.
"Foreign visitors can also take advantage of the possibility of staying overnight in the locality of Svidník, where a two- or three-day complete tourism product is prepared for them. They invite you to visit the Dukla battlefield, the water world in Svidník or the Valley of Death," names Janoško.
The tourist bus departs from Medzilaborce at 10:35 on the above mentioned days, arrival to Svidník is scheduled for 16:25.The connection is subject to a single fare in the total amount of 3,- € per person. The Prešov Self-Governing Region has also arranged transport of passengers from Svidník back to Medzilaborce so that they can fully board the train connection Medzilaborce - Łupków - Sanok with departure from Medzilaborce at 17:48.
