The Regional Tourism Organization of Northeast Slovakia is coming up with a summer campaign this year as well Legendarium, which is designed for families with children. The sixth edition of the competition follows the concept of the previous one. The competition will run from 25 June to 12 September.
New locations, interesting places and especially unforgettable adventures await visitors to the Prešov region this summer.
"Legendarium has this year's title The Adventurer's Diary. They can enter this diary competitors stick stickersthat they find freely available in nature and also collect stamps located in cultural institutions of the Prešov Self-Governing Region, sports and entertainment centres or galleries," Martin Janoško, Executive Director of KOCR North-East of Slovakia, explains the system of the competition.
The concept of the competition is therefore divided into two parts - the search for stickers and the collection of stamps. Visitors to the Prešov Region will find the legend stickers in new locations, such as. Šafranovka Hill, Plesnivec Cottage or Tri Studničky in the Poloniny Mountains. The stickers are placed in safes that can only be unlocked by a specific code. The contestants will find it in the aforementioned Diary of an Adventurer. The second part consists of collecting stamps, for which special places are reserved in the diary. 37 types of unique stamps are found in 53 locations in the Prešov Region.
"Also in this year's competition it is true that the more stickers and stamps a contestant receives, the more chances they have to win the final draw, as each sticker and stamp represents one vote in the final draw. Contestants can collect up to 52 votes for 15 stickers and 37 stamps," adds Janoško.
Competitors can Diary of an Adventurer can be obtained free of charge from the places where the stamps are issued. In the adventurer's diary, 'legendarists' will find excerpts from fairy tales about the new legends King Matthias, the wild woman Liana or the Monk Aurel, but also tips for other excursions in the area, puzzles, coloring pages and place for self-descriptions of experiences from travelling in the Prešov region. KOCR Northeast of Slovakia has prepared interesting prizes for the winners again this year. The main prize will be a bicycle worth € 500 from the CykloČajka shop. Various rewards can be earned by 'adventurers' already during the summer for crossing the so-called guaranteed limits. After receiving 5 stickers, a fairy tale book will be waiting for the contestants at selected locations. Legends for the journey and sports bottle, For 10 stickers they get a mug and a puzzle, for all 15 a multifunctional backpack with a key ring.
Legendarium is a successful campaign from the KOCR Northeast of Slovakia, which attracts many visitors to the Prešov Region every year. "Last year, 1349 contestants entered the final draw, which is a record among all years. Judging by the competition cuttings and stamps, these adventurers alone visited the selected sites a total of 22 059 times," Janoško concludes.
