Discover the places of World War I battles, go on a tramp to a wooden church, get to know the Prešov NAJ, try your hand at research in the Poloniny forests or an excursion to the world of bees. For tourists and locals in the Prešov Region, new experiential products have been prepared.
In the Prešov region waiting for tourists unique experiences, which make a visit to selected sites more interesting or can themselves be the destination of a trip. They were prepared by the Regional Tourism Organisation (KOCR) North-East of Slovakia in cooperation with service providers to support the visitation of the Prešov region.

"The Prešov region is full of unique places and smart people. In the regions we have interesting craftsmen, tourism guides and also many passionate people who have created extraordinary services for tourists. Their common motive is to provide an experience. We have also taken a different approach to tours of historic places, with unusual and interesting interpretation.," Martin Janoško, Director of KOCR Northeast of Slovakia, introduced the experiential products. All experiences can be found on eshop.presovregion.travel.
To wild nature and historical places
Tourists can, for example go to the Poloniny Mountains and dive with a guide into the depths of the rainforest or even bivouac under the stars. Unique experiences include guided wandering in the footsteps of World War I in the valley of the Ondava River. It starts in the town of Stropkov and passes through the places where the war front moved. The tour is organized by the Beskydy Military History Club. It includes tasting of frontline coffee, visit to the battlefield in the village of Veľkrop or the trench lines in the village of Breznica.

In Vyšná Pisana near Svidník presents the life of bees and their products beekeeper Martina Mihalenková known as Pisanská pčola. After years abroad she returned to the East and in the village near Svidník she is devoted to beekeeping and education in this area. Tourists can also enjoy getting to know Bardejov (UNESCO) and its surroundings, including a tasting of the healing waters in Bardejov Spa and a visit to wooden church in Hervartov (UNESCO).

Prešov NAJ is presented by the guide Andrea Sivaničová: "Tourists will be introduced to the oldest inn, church, school or cinema, as well as the best café and the most inconspicuous monument outside the city walls. They will get to know the most curious story of the town executioner and the place where the first sugar was produced and many other interesting places. Prešov."
In High Tatras interested parties can, among other things to experience game viewing tourism. An experienced guide will take you through the Tatra National Park and lead you to the places where there is the highest chance of seeing brown bears, chamois, deer and various species of birds.

Land of Uniques
KOCR Northeast of Slovakia has also prepared a campaign to promote the visitation of selected locations in the region during the summer season. "Five national parks extend into the area, including up to three are mostly located in the Prešov region. Here you will find the smallest mountains in the world - the High Tatras, one of the darkest places on earth - the Dark Sky Park in the Poloniny Mountains or the Dunajec River in the Pieniny Mountains. We have 180 protected areas, about one third of the cultural monuments of Slovakia, UNESCO sites, unique wooden temples or opal mines and castles are located here. In the Prešov Region we have hundreds of unique places, which are among the tourist attractions of world importance for their significance and charm.," said Janoško.
The public will find unique items on a variety of advertising spaces, while at the same time their can get to know it better thanks to the original online quiz. The quiz is combined with a competition for interesting prizes.
