Cyklopátrania 2018 culminated in Prešov

PREŠOV (8 September 2018) - Cycling tour in Prešov and its surroundings concluded the fifth year of exploring the Prešov region on bicycles. 120 cyclists were waiting for interesting places in the metropolis of Šariš and its surroundings. Special tasks and prizes were prepared for the children by Dobré from Slovakia.

After cycling in Medzilaborce (Kalinov, 30th June), around Bardejov (Mníchovský potok, 21st July) and in the Levoča Hills (18th August), cyclists set out to explore the surroundings of Prešov (8th September 2018, Malá Marakaňa, Malá Marakaňa). Even the changeable weather with showers did not discourage the cyclists and more than one hundred and twenty of them met at the start.

"Excellent atmosphere, diverse competition places and the final raffle draw gave a beautiful end to this year's Cyclopátraniami. We would like to thank all cyclists and we invite them to explore interesting places of the Prešov region by bike next year as well," said Martin Janoško, director of the KOCR Northeast of Slovakia.

Cyclists had a choice again 15 locations of varying difficulty with corresponding point value. There was a 5-hour time limit during which they could collect competition points. The choice of competition places was in the hands of the competitors - according to their abilities and fitness.

Traditionally, competition points were collected through the Discover mobile app. The day before the race, the map and the individual competition locations were available, so it was possible to choose and tactician as early as 24 hours before the race.

Cyclists could discover Ortas Arboretum in the recreational part of Prešov Kvašná voda, wooden temple in Brežany, bike park in Janov, Šarišský and Zbojnínický castle, singing well under Lysá Stráž, manor house in Fintice, Šebeš castle, new shipyard in Sigord, Sisi spring (the place of the picnic of the famous Empress on Sigord) and the most challenging competition point [trip:7215;Slovenské opálové bane] and other places.

There were 5 competition places for children: Calvary (Prešov), the centre of Veľký Šariš, Rákoci's Palace (Prešov), the water tower (Prešov), the small motoring complex (Prešov).All children were rewarded with gifts from Dobré from Slovakia - vitamin syrups Doktor Sirup (Doctor Syrup) and discount coupons to AquaCity Poprad.

Cyclists on the first places received medals and prizes from CTM Bikes a KOCR Northeast of Slovakia.  The women also received fragrant gifts from Life Vision (Good from Slovakia) In addition to prizes, promotional materials about the Prešov region were prepared for cyclists. Best performance Cyclopathing in Prešov and surroundings by Stanislav Haško. which received 345 points (out of a total of 500). At the same time he became the winner of the category Men - solo.

Materials were also prepared for cyclists on cross-border cooperation between Slovakia and Poland in the framework of the development and promotion of the cross-border cooperation programme Interreg V-A Poland - Slovakia 2014 - 2020.

V záverečnom žrebovaní tomboly sa cyklisti mohli tešiť z dvadsiatky cien. Na každom Cyklopátraní získal cyklista jeden lístok do žrebovania. Prvú cenu – novučičký bicykel si domov odniesol Dávid Durilla zo Stropkova. Blahoželáme!
