The municipality of Veľký Šariš is planning to complete one of the two stages of the construction of the international cycling route EUROVELO 11, which are being implemented in its cadastre, in November this year. According to the submitted visualisations, the cycling route in the third stage runs directly through Veľký Šariš. The total length of the designed cycle paths, the construction of which is currently underway, is 5463.5 m. The planned completion of the project within the framework of stage II of the EUROVELO 11 cycle route in the municipality of Veľký Šariš is set for April 2020.
KOCR Northeast of Slovakia within the project New tourist product - part of the trans-European EuroVelo 11 route Prešov - Muszyna - Mníšek nad Popradom provides marking of the 100 km route, building an information system and comprehensive promotion of the emerging route. The new tourism product will contribute to increasing the attractiveness and development of the Slovak-Polish border area. Project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg V-A Poland-Slovakia programme.
