At the end of August, the streets of the beautiful ancient historical town of Bardejov will once again come alive for four days with the unconventional bustle of traders, craftsmen, artists and visitors of the 670th year of the historical and 50th year of the historical Bardejov Festival. From 24 to 27 August 2023 on an area of 4 800 m2 in Bardejov will be presented by market traders with their wide range of products. Craftsmen with their products will fill Craft Alley and there will also be amusement rides and funfairs. An integral part of this year's cultural programme will be a variety of musical genres. The highlights are the performances on Thursday ADAM ĎURICA a COLLARS, will star on Friday SYMPHOBIA, Saturday fever will be triggered BILLY BARMAN, MODERN TALKING RELOADED, PILC C and Sunday will culminate with a concert of rock legend OLYMPIC.
Jubilee fair awaits jubilee turnout
Director of the Regional Tourism Organization (OOCR) "ŠARIŠ" - Bardejov Ing. Radomír Jančošek says: "The town of Bardejov, as the main organizer of this exceptional commercial, social and cultural event, invites market traders, as well as all visitors to visit the town, whether during the fair or outside it. The Jubilee Fair has also called for strong name performers who will no doubt attract tens to hundreds of thousands of visitors."
He adds that it is the most important event in the field of tourism, entertainment, culture and commerce in northeastern Slovakia. After the Covida downturn, it will suitably complement this year's tourist season, which gained promising momentum in July. The Bardejov fair is a phenomenon unparalleled in Slovakia.
"However, after an excellent July, the rainy weather in early August brought an unexpected downturn. Fortunately, there are historical sites and museum exhibitions dotting the Northeast that can be viewed even in rainy weather. There are visits to wooden churches, museums, galleries, war memorials from the Middle Ages to WWI and WWII, sightseeing tours and visits to castles and manor houses. Restaurants and accommodation provide a good choice and prices are affordable even after the increase. Water sports, both indoor and outdoor, are a regular feature.," invites R.Jančošek.

Events organized by Bardejovské Kúpele, a.s. and the town of Bardejov, together with permanent facilities, make the northeast of Slovakia very attractive. Bardejov is a town full of UNESCO monuments and together with the fair it forms an extremely attractive combination at the height of summer.

V tom istom roku bolo historické jadro mesta Bardejov spolu so židovským suburbiom zapísané do Zoznamu svetového kultúrneho a prírodného dedičstva UNESCO.
Vojnová história
K najnavštevovanejším miestam regiónu patrí [trip:1346;Pamätník na Dukle;_blank]. Pripomína Karpatsko-dukliansku vojenskú operáciu z jesene 1944. V areáli prírodného múzea ako aj okolo cesty do Svidníka je rozmiestnených 55 kusov rozličnej ťažkej bojovej techniky. Pre deti je veľmi lákavé, že sa môžu dotýkať a dokonca liezť po vojenskej technike.
