Celebrate the liberation of Svidník by visiting it

At the end of January 2024, Svidník will commemorate the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the town from fascism. The town under Dukla lies in an area that was particularly affected by the fighting of World War II. In addition to commemorative memories, the town of Svidník and its surroundings offer many other tips for experiences.

In addition to the commemorative acts that will take place on 19 January 2024 (Friday) at the [trip:1346;Memorial of the Soviet Army in Svidník], in the city centre at the statue of Army General Ludvík Svoboda and at the memorial at [trip:1346;Dukla], the city of Svidník is full of tips for weekend trips with children even in winter.

The difficult times are still commemorated by memorials, war cemeteries, a museum and exhibits of heavy combat equipment, including tanks, located in the Death Valley.

Ascent to the observation tower with a shelter above Svidník will reward you with an enchanting view. If you are travelling with children, you will surely appreciate the possibility of barbecue and pleasant relaxation in the hammock or wooden swing in the bosom of nature. Entrance to the lookout is unlimited and free of charge.

Aquapark Aquaruthenia

Relaxing in the pools and sauna world with sauna rituals is something you will appreciate during a trip in cold weather. The little ones will have a blast in the children's pool with water slides, and you'll also be motivated to get moving with aquaerobics under the supervision of animators.

If you don't know where else to go with your children, ice skating will surely be a magical experience for them that should not be missed during the trip. The ice rink in Svidník is the perfect place. You can rent skates here, you can pay by card and there is free parking right next to the rink. More info

Through the 360° glasses you can see the Military Museum, the Museum of Ukrainian Culture (SNM - MUK), the Ethnographic Exposition in Nature - Skanzen in Svidník and the museums in the Polish town of Gmina Dukla, which is located just a few kilometres from Svidník.
