Beliansky express connects the Prešov region and Poland

The popular railway connection Poprad-Tatry - Stará Ľubovňa - Muszyna starts its summer season on 3 June 2023. It will run every weekend until 3 September.

The Beliansky express is coming with a novelty during this year's summer season. Passengers who buy a ticket for this train get a discount of 1 euro for a visit to Ľubovňa Castle and open-air museum. The novelty was prepared for passengers by the Prešov Self-Governing Region and IDS East in cooperation with the Ľubovňa Museum.

Beliansky express starts from Poprad to Polish Muszyna every Saturday and Sunday at 7.29 a.m. and 3.29 p.m., arrival at the destination station is at 9.11 a.m. and 5.11 p.m. In the opposite direction from Muszyna departs at 10.00 h and 17.56 h.

At the stop in Stará Ľubovňa there is a bonus for passengers travelling on the Beliansky Express. V Ľubovňa Museum can apply a discount 1 euro for a visit to Ľubovňa Castle and open-air museum. The discount is valid only on the day they travel on the train. The condition is to show a stamped travel document issued by the carrier ZSSK, in the case of passengers from Poland a stamped ticket from the carrier Koleje Malopolskie. Electronic ticket is shown directly in the mobile application IDeme by train, the ticket purchased from the ZSSK website will be recognized in pdf format. The discount cannot be granted to holders of railway overhead passes valid on the territory of the Slovak Republic or to passengers from other trains.

From 1 July passengers will be able to use the Beliansky express in Stara Ľubovňa also follow-up bus connection to the Red Monastery or Pieniny National Park. The novelty of this bus connection is the possibility of transport by bus and bicycle.

Stará Ľubovňa offers, besides the castle and the open-air museum, other attractions that are worth visiting. These include the Medieval Military Camp, the Military Exposition of Michal Strenek or the Victoria Gardens with the largest maze in Central Europe and the Devil's Rock lookout tower. The Nestville Park, Plaveč Castle, the surroundings of the Vyšné Ružbachy Spa and Červený Kláštor are also worth a visit.

The Beliansky Express creates opportunities for tourists from Slovakia and Poland to explore other locations. Its destination is the spa town of Muszyna, which offers ancient monuments, numerous attractions and healing springs. In Muszyna, there are also connecting trains to Krynica in Poland.

The train also stops in Cold Streamwhere tourists can visit the golf complex, the Belianska Cave or the carriage museum with a carriage ride with a team.

Other stops are Kežmarok and Spišská Belawhere there are important monuments - Kežmarok Castle, Wooden Articular Church in Kežmarok, Strážky Manor or J. M. Petzval in Spišská Bela.

A big attraction is also the city itself Popradfrom where tourists can conveniently reach to the High Tatras by suburban buses or by TEŽ trains.
