You will certainly not be bored in the Tatras on the second weekend in October. What you will see in the sky is not just like that. In the days 13. 10. - 15. 10. 2023 Balloon Fiesta Tatry will take place for the third time. Under Lomnicky Peak will arrive 10 hot air balloons with their crews. Apart from Slovaks, Czechs, Hungarians, Poles, Dutch, Romanians and Austrians will come to Veľká Lomnica.
Along with the well-known event in the Italian Dolomites, Swiss Chateau-d'Oex, Austrian Filzmoos or Ramsau - where they have a long tradition, the Balloon Fiesta Tatry is getting on the world map of balloon fiestas.
"The Balloon Fiesta Tatry 2023 will also feature a special balloon - Hugo the Cheetah. We hope that the weather will be favourable and Hugo together with other balloons will shine in the Tatra sky and make the locals and visitors of the foothills of the High Tatras happy", said Zuzana Korchňáková from balon.sk in Košice.
"The main accompanying program will be on Saturday from 18:00 a.m. in the golf course in Veľká Lomnica. Poprad band 4-KA BAND will play the best Slovak, Czech and world hits. The programme will culminate with balloon inflation at night approximately at 20:00", said Danka Velecká, Executive Director of OOCR Vysoké Tatry - Podhorie.
On all three days, weather permitting, the balloons will take off in mass from the area opposite the Black Stork golf course in Veľká Lomnica at 7:00 am and 4:00 pm.
"Our goal is to continue under the High Tatras with an attractive event, which began to have its permanent place even before the metalwork period. At the same time, we believe that the emotions and experiences that visitors will experience during this weekend will inspire them to visit us also during the late autumn and winter", added Peter Duda, mayor of Veľká Lomnica and chairman of the board of directors of the OOCR Vysoké Tatry - Podhorie, at the end.
