Get to know and enjoy AQUAVELO - a unique international cycling route in the Slovenian-Polish border area. Discover the charm of historical towns and unique natural attractions.
OOCR "ŠARIŠ" Bardejov as a partner of the project prepared the new four-language AQUAVELO cyclomap. It is about 230 km stretch between the spas: [trip:1354;Bardejovské Kúpele], Krynica, Muzsyna, Szawnica, with objects of interest, monuments, fauna, flora. The partners of the project are, in addition to the town of Bardejov and OOCR "ŠARIŠ" Bardejov and Association of Municipalities of Krynica-Popradzki in Muszyna, Towns and municipalities of Szczawnica, Ľubovnian Regional Association of Towns and Municipalities.
More than 20,000 Aquavelo maps were distributed among the project members according to the length of each section. Domestic and foreign tourists can enjoy a unique cycling route on the border between Slovakia and Poland.
The map contains a list of historical, cultural or natural monumentsthat cycling enthusiasts can see on their way. The precise location of the objects is intended to help with better orientation and individual timing of the route the tourist wants to take. For those interested in Bardejov, Aquavelo maps are available at the Tourist Information Centre Bardejov/Bardejov Spa.
OOCR "ŠARIŠ" Bardejov is planning other activities in the coming months. In cooperation with the State Forests, which are completing the restoration of the Bardejov Spa Lake, they are planning to restore the rest and recreation area around the lake in Bardejov Spa (wooden elements, resting places, gazebos, maps, baskets, wooden bridge).
It should also include a mini wooden park for children by the pond, possibly mini rope park around the pond. The restoration of hiking signs and trails, wooden hiking gazebos, outdoor hiking maps, OOCR "ŠARIŠ" is also in preparation. Bardejov will financially support the restoration of cycle paths, hiking trails and cultural events and participate in the promotion of the Šariš region.
