Museums and galleries of the PSK again enjoyed higher interest from tourists. In 2022, almost half a million visitors visited them, which is more than the year before. Most of them came to the Ľubovňa Museum - Castle in Stara Ľubovna.
More than 472 thousand people visited museums and galleries under the jurisdiction of the Prešov Self-Governing Region (PSK) last year. Compared to 2021, this is an increase of more than 146 thousand visitors.
The record holder in the increase in attendance was in 2022 Regional Museum in PrešovThe three organizational units (Prešov, Hanušovce, Stropkov) and the exposition in Sabinov were visited by more than 92 thousand people.
Once as many visitors as in 2021 came to see the reconstructed manor house in Humenne and the expositions and exhibitions Vihorlat Museum in Humenne, almost 39 thousand. The highest attendance was again recorded by Ľubovnian Museum - castle in Stara Ľubovna, which was visited by almost 183 thousand visitors.
The significant increase in attendance after the pandemic period was also pleasing Podtatranské Museum in Poprad. Its expositions, exhibitions and cultural and educational events attracted more than 17 thousand visitors. Museum in Kežmarok more than 46 thousand people interested in culture and history came to see the exhibitions directly in the castle premises, the highest attendance was recorded.
Almost pre-pandemic numbers of visitors also came to Šariš Museum in Bardejov, more than 39 thousand and expositions and exhibitions Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art in Medzilaborce was seen by more than 19 thousand people.
The two have also had an extremely successful year PSK galleries, which was visited by more than 36 thousand people, which is approximately 10 thousand more visitors compared to 2021. The number of visitors was doubled in 2022 by the Regional Gallery in Prešov, whose exhibitions were seen by almost 23 thousand people.
