Entrance gate to the High Tatras. This is also the nickname of the town of Poprad, where you will find many opportunities to enjoy your time.
Tatra Gallery
It is housed in a former steam power plant. It is included in the list of cultural monuments of Slovakia. The 41-metre high chimney offers a magnificent view of the whole Poprad and the Podtatranská basin. It provides a unique space for contemporary Slovak and foreign visual artists, as well as artists from the field of dance, music and theatre, who have the opportunity to present the most interesting and contemporary of their work here.

Podtatranské Museum
Múzeum v súčasnosti spravuje viac ako 47 000 zbierkových predmetov a viac ako 18 000 zväzkov kníh v muzeálnej knižnici. Múzeum sídli v dvoch pamiatkových objektoch, v Poprade a v mestskej časti Spišská Sobota. Prostredníctvom expozícii približuje návštevníkom život neandertálskeho človeka, pravek a stredovek pod Tatrami i históriu mesta Poprad. Najväčšiu pozornosť si zasluhuje interaktívna expozícia Hrobka kniežaťa. Podtatranské cechy a remeslá, meštianske bývanie a osobnosti dokumentuje expozícia v Spišskej Sobote.

Historical centre, Spišská Sobota
Meštianske domy s vysokými šindľovými strechami, gotický Kostol sv. Juraja, renesančná zvonica i baroková socha Immaculaty vytvárajú oku lahodiacu atmosféru malého turistického mestečka. Jeho krásou sa kochal aj kráľ Matej Korvín, o čom svedčí mramorová tabuľa s nápisom na dome, v ktorom prenocoval.

Aquacity Poprad
The water park is a paradise for every child. Podtatranské AquaCity offers a world of fun, relaxation and rest. The aquapark includes 13 outdoor and indoor pools with thermal water with a temperature of 28 °C - 38 °C, water slides and more than 350 water attractions that will fascinate and entertain both children and adults.

The surroundings of Poprad also offer attractions that you should definitely not miss.
Geopark Neandertal, Gánovce
In the village of Gánovce, approximately 3 kilometres from Poprad, lies the village of Gánovce where you can visit an unusually important palaeontological site called Hrádok. It is a place where a cast of a Neanderthal brain was discovered in the past. Recently, a small leisure area with several attractions for children called Geopark Neandertal has been built here.

For ancient history you can also go to Štrba in the Tatra foothills. On the outskirts of the village there is the extinct settlement of Šoldov, which is an important archaeological site. Skeletal remains from the site have been found up to about two metres long. In Šoldov, parts of the walls of the church were uncovered and rebuilt to give the visitor an idea of where the original church stood.

Liptovská Teplička - unique cellars and barns
Approximately 13 km from Štrba is the picturesque foothill village of Liptovská Teplička. It is especially famous for its unique potato cellars, which resemble small hobbit houses. They reach a depth of about 2.5 - 3 m. They are dug into the limestone and the cellars keep a stable temperature of 2 to 6 °C. You can also visit the local organic farm, which offers high-quality dairy products. The village is surrounded by terraced fields and offers views of the High Tatras and Kralova Hora.
