Mineral spring Juice and Sour Spring (Sigord)

Mineral springs JuiceSour in the Slanské hills in the locality called Sigord are important sources of water in the area. Juice is even one of the the main tributaries of the Malá Delňa stream, which feeds two water reservoirs in Prešov - Sigord and Delňa. The Šťavica spring is also source of drinking water for adjacent villages in the area. Both springs have been improved and are now covered. Štiavica is located on the left side of the asphalt road that leads to the Fricka Chalet and Javornický Poľana. The location of the Kyselka spring is a few meters higher on the right side of the asphalt road. Both springs bring to the surface rare table mineral water suitable for digestion and refreshment. These waters contain approximately 2200 mg/l of carbon dioxide with a total mineralisation of over 2500 mg/l of all minerals dissolved in the water.

In the locality there is also Queen Elizabeth Memorial GroveSisi well named after a famous empress who visited this place in the past. Historical records tell about the trip of Empress Elisabeth with her entourage to the Šariš region in 1895, during which she visited the Bardejov Spa. In her honour, the Alžbeta Spa House, next to which stands a statue of her from 1903. During her visit to Šariš, she was interested in the rich history of the Slanské Hills, especially the mining of opals, salt and mineral springs in the area. A lunch was prepared for the Empress and her entourage at the meadow by the upper mineral spring Kyselka by the stream, roast beef, which she liked. After her death in 1898, a stone cairn with a memorial plaque was erected in her honour at this location above the Sisi well.
